Ameloblastoma is a rare, benign, slowly growing, locally invasive, odontogenic tumor of epithelial origin with high recurrence rate. We present a case of large unicystic ameloblastoma in a 13-year old girl. The tumor involved the right mandibular body, ramus and condyle and surrounded the crown of an unerupted second molar. Conservative surgery was chosen as a first choice treatment in order to preserve the structural and functional integrity of the mandible. No recurrence was observed during a 4-year follow-up.
