Optimization of operation management of prover in crude oil dynamic metering system
Abstract
Regular verification is required during the operation of crude oil dynamic metering system. The factors that affect the accuracy of the verification results mainly contain the temperature, pressure and flow of the measured crude oil, for which quantitative indexes are provided. However, there is still lack of quantifiable management indexes for operation management of prover, which is usually functioned as the pipe displacer. By analyzing the relation between the changes in material performance and prover size and the verification results of the flowmeter, it is found that the repeatability of the flowmeter is generally stable before the step change of the hardness and interference of the prover and increases continuously after the step change, which may lead to a low verification pass rate of the flowmeter. The hardness and interference of the prover was put forward as management indexes, and the influence of chemical agents was minimized, so as to provide reference for increasing the verification pass rate of the flowmeter and prolonging the service life of prover.
