La médecine libérale en France
Abstract
The regulation of physician private practice in France since the end of the 18th century is analyzed within the framework of the transformations of capitalism and the chain of conflicts and compromises between the actors of the health system. We focus on incentives policies introduced at the beginning of the 80’s (in the line of New Public Management), both on the demand side (with the role of fees, prices and cost sharing) and the supply side (with medical guidelines and pay-for-performance mechanisms).
