Design and Development of Organizational KM Strategy Map Based on ISM Approach

Despite of the development of appropriate academic and experiential background knowledge management and its manifestation as a competitive advantage, many organizations have failed in its effective utilization. Among the reasons for this failure, are some deficiencies in terms of methodological on inappropriate recognition and translation of KM dimensions and lack of systematic approach in establishment of causal relationships between KM objectives derived from translation of KM that there remain some problems to be resolved. This article attempts to design and development of organizational knowledge management strategy map. In this study, for design and development of organizational KM strategy map that is based on library research in knowledge management, balanced scorecard and strategy map categories, in addition to, interviews with experts and the appropriate qualitative and quantitative algorithms, such as quality function deployment(QFD) approach and interpretive-structural model(ISM) was used. Accordingly, 9 key components of KM extracted and 21 strategic objectives obtained from components of KM and with ISM approach was defined and developed communications and sequences of objectives in 12 levels for design and development KM strategy map. Finally, an application in a sub-corporate for a Holding Company in the food industry is presented to illustrate the proposed methodology.
