Piauí empreendedor e a questão dos babaçuais: contradições e problemas de um projeto de desenvolvimento

Abstract

This text reflects on the discourses about the development of Piauí, showing the configuration and the implications of this ideological and political project such as the creation of the territories of the development of Piauí. Addresses the situations and problems that are related to the babassu forest, as well as the social mobilization carried out by various social agents that are affected by actions and ventures that threaten their survival. We describe the existing socio-environmental conflicts, the initiatives seen as threats and the social movements that oppose them. It concludes, exposing the forms of confrontation and the identities triggered in the process of social mobilization constituted.
