Summary. In a study to assess the relationship between the number of donors and the amount of blood collected from them in the Sumy region during 2005-2013 years, was used a method of time series analysis and correlation analysis (calculated Spearman rank correlation coefficient). The reliability calculation estimated by calculating the average error rate and reliability. The basis of the study were reporting data of Sumy Regional Blood Transfusion Station and “SOTSSK”. There are such characteristic features of the donation process in Ukraine: 1) insufficient supply of blood, its components and preparations; 2) reducing the “prestige” status of the donation; 3) a small proportion of voluntary unpaid donors in the total amount; 4) the existence of problems with the quality and safety of donated blood; 5) restrictions on the use of effective methods of blood testing. It is proved that the increase in the number of donors in the Sumy region does not cause an increase in blood obtained from donors (Spearman rank correlation coefficient is 0.58, the average error - 0.31 coefficient of reliability - 1.87).bEmphasis in the premises to ensure the quality of blood donation, three levels: system, service, network. At the system level prerequisites that ensure the quality of blood donation, not well defined are the questions of creation of a national registry of donors, the adoption of legislative acts in the field of standardization processes donation, there is no communication strategy to ensure the quality of blood donation. At the service level needs to be improved service organization donors and increase the adequacy of equipment. The network layer is represented by the insufficient number of donors and the need to improve their quality and structural composition. To build a quality management system donation in Sumy region it is necessary prerequisites for development at three levels: system, service and network, allowing purposefully to maintain a certain quality standards in the donation.
