Because of the important role of using the best cognitive strategies through learning processing, the main purpose of this research was to investigate the effect of choice theory training on learning cognitive strategies.40 person from female students of Tehran's Universities in 1393 were selected by accessible sampling and divided into two groups: experimental (n=20) and control (n=20) groups. Learning cognitive strategy questionnaire MSLQ Pintrich & De Groot were conduct to gathering basic level data. The subjects of experimental group were attending in choice theory training protocol for 8 sessions. The inventories after training period conducted again as post-test. The value of post-tests was compared with basic level through covariance analysis. The results of covariance analysis showed a significant difference between two groups as reduction of rehearsal strategy and increase of elaboration, organization and critical thinking strategies in experimental group compared with control group. The implications of these results are discussed with respect to the utility of applying choice theory training for significantly increase of deeper cognitive strategies, so learning processing was improved.
