“Towards Democracy and Freedom.” The First National Congress of Delegates of NSZZ „Solidarity” in the Memories of Aleksander Hall and Anna Maria Mydlarska

Abstract

A source query among the collection of film records of the European Solidarity Centre aimed at obtaining information related to the 1st National Congress of Delegates of NSZZ “Solidarność” provided little or no data about the Congress, and that was the reason for conducting further interviews with participants at the event. They brought little-known information on the topic, thus showing the value of thematic film notations focused only on a given issue. The authors’ additional intention was to draw attention to the differences in the perception of events depending on the perspective.
