Transformer oil is widely used in high-voltage electrical equipment and serves as a dielectric, as well as a cooling medium. It consists of a complex mixture of hydrocarbon compositions with various impurity compounds. During the operation of oil-filled electrical equipment under the influence of technological conditions of operation of high-voltage devices, which include high voltage electric ield, oxygen, humid environment, temperature, aging occurs as transformer oil and solid insulation, which includes electrical cardboard. In this case, the dielectric properties of the transformer oil deteriorate, which can lead to transformer equipment failure. For the manifestation of the obtained chromatograms, a thin-layer plate was placed in a chamber with iodine vapor, after which a spot appeared on it that corresponded to ionol. Then the RF value was calculated, since it is a value under standard conditions. For the thin layer plate was measured by the area of the spot and according to the previously constructed calibration schedule found number ionol in transformer oil. The method of control of antioxidant additive in transformer oil based on thin-layer chromatography on Sorbfil plates and different polarity organic solvents is proposed.
