Culture includes the lifestyle of the people of a country, individual style, collective way of working, good and bad, virtue, education, fame, heroism, honour, hospitality, kindness, common good etc. India is the most culturally rich country in the world. “Ramayana” and “Mahabharata” are proof of that evidences. Both these epics depict the culture and civilization of the people of India. The best cultural values can be found in a society where humanity prevails. Such an appearance can be found in the story of “Mahabharata”. Vyasa's “Mahabharata” can be seen as a long autobiography. Villiputhurar composed the “Mahabharata” in Tamil as “Villibharatam”. It can be seen that “Villibharatam” in the Tamil language is parallel to the marvels of “Mahabharatam” in the vernacular language. Each of the characters in Villibharatam reveals the psychological characteristics of human nature. Its goodness highlights the virtues of Indian civilization. The purpose of this paper is to bring out the noble cultural values through the selected characters Vithura, Gandhari, Vikarnan, Viman Draupadi and Ekalavya.
