Expressing data and variables

Abstract

Proper expression of data is important when you are reporting your analysed data. Categorical data are presented as rate, ratio, proportion or percentages. Quantitative data are expressed as mean and standard deviation (SD), or median and interquartile range (IQR), depending on the distribution of the data. This articles deals with statistical expressions of data depending on their type.
