A.I. Terenozhkin's letters of 1939-1941 relate to the period when scientists were searching for their scientifc path and the beginning of his work in Uzbekistan. In them, he shares with V.A. Gorodtsov the first results of research in the construction zone of the Great Tashkent Canal and on the Ak-Tepe settlement, introduces the teacher to the Chimbaylyk treasure and advises about its chronology. The messages of 1941-1942 were written from the front roads, but their main topic is still archaeology. Gorodtsov in his letters notes the importance of the latest archaeological discoveries in Turkestan, shares news about the progress of work on the 2nd volume of "Archeology", calls to beat the enemy. The published correspondence opens the veil for us in the dialogue between the Teacher and the student.
