Prospects of development of light rail transportation in russian cities

Abstract

This article describes one of the options to address transport problems in major cities of the Russian Federation on the basis of introduction of modern light rail transit (LRT). Revealed and substantiated the feasibility of using innovative high-speed transport with high performance, security, accessibility and comfort, in Omsk. The main characteristics of the proposed LRT based on partially built underground. The proposed activities for the successful implementation of the proposed concept taking into account modern legislation.
