This research analyzes participation in the governance of Nahdatul Ulama University, South Kalimantan (UNUKASE) using SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats). The participation of various stakeholders such as students, lecturers, staff, alumni, government and industrial partners is considered crucial to increase accountability, transparency and efficiency in university governance. Through this participation, diverse perspectives and expertise can be accommodated, improving the quality of decision making and innovation. However, universities also face challenges such as slow decision-making processes, high costs and time, inequality in representation, and communication complexity. The SWOT analysis shows the university's strengths in terms of diversity of perspectives, increased transparency, increased accountability, as well as innovation and creativity. Opportunities identified include improving the quality of education, collaboration and partnerships, adapting to change, and enhancing reputation. Threats faced include resistance to change, external influences, crisis of confidence, and legal and regulatory complexity. The analysis results show that the university has great potential to exploit its strengths and opportunities while overcoming existing weaknesses and threats. This research recommends strategies to increase participation in university governance, such as investment in research and development, market expansion, increased marketing, formation of strategic partnerships, and human resource development. This balanced approach is expected to help universities achieve sustainable growth and development, improve the quality of education, and strengthen the institution's reputation. This analysis also emphasizes the importance of transparency and accountability in the governance process to build trust among stakeholders.
