Highlights MXene-based soft actuators with angle-independent structural colors have the potential to contribute to various fields, including display technologies, camouflage systems, sensors, and beyond. Bioinspiration has paved the way for developing advanced structural colored soft actuators for biomimetic soft robots. This perspective appraises the development of bioinspired MXene-based soft actuators with angle-independent structural color and beyond in soft robotics.
