Today, Russia’s relations with the EU have fallen to an extremely low level. They are determined by the current packages of political and economic sanctions imposed by the European Union against Russia in the period from March 2014 to the present time. They provide the ban on the entry into the EU for a number of high-ranking representatives of Russian officials and business elite, the expulsion of Russian diplomats and a number of measures limiting trade and economic relations. The negative political result of these sanctions was the growth of anti-Russian sentiment in Europe and partial isolation of Russia. The future of Russia strongly requires breaking the deadlock in relations with the West.
