Experimental study on performance of plume abatement and water-saving cooling tower with condensate method

In order to obtain the plume abating,water-saving and energy-saving performance of the diamond-shaped module plume abatement and water-saving cooling tower,an related experimental studies were carried out with a designed circulating water volume of 5 000 m3/h. The evaluation model of cooling tower anti-fog,water-saving and energy-saving performance was established. Field tests obtained the parameters and variation laws of cooling tower anti-fog and water saving characteristics. The results showed that the relative humidity of the air in the design of the plume abatement water-saving cooling tower was 85%,the measured relative humidity of the tower was 82.28%,and the plume abatement index was 1.03,which met the requirements of zero plume abatement cooling tower. The amount of condensed water after heat exchange by the diamond-shaped plume abatement condensing module was 14.19 m3/h,and the water saving rate of the cooling tower was 25.3%. It could be seen that the condensation water saving effect of the tower was good. The total annual energy-saving income of a single tower was about 400 000 yuan,the overall annual energy-saving income was 2.4 million yuan. The diamond-shaped plume abatement water-saving cooling tower has good economic and environmental benefits.
