The practice of using a cutting tool with PCNB group BL in the processing of hardened steels
Abstract
The industry is increasingly using the technological capabilities of metalworking using tools made of superhard materials, in particular polycrystalline cubic boron nitride (PCВN) group BL. This is due to the need to increase productivity by increasing the cutting modes in the processing of hardened steels, with and without the use of lubricants and coolants, which makes this process «dry» and environmentally friendly. Based on the analysis of the properties of superhard material, the article considers the issues of force characteristics of cutting processes. The advantages of using tools based on PCNB, namely the BL group, as a group with low boron content have been established. In the article thermobaric and tribological features of behavior of tools from PCNB of group BL at processing of hardened steels are considered. The temperature influence on the cutting speed during high-speed processing of hardened steels is analyzed. The results of analytical researches on definition of geometrical parameters of a zone of contact of an east of shaving from a forward surface of the tool at processing are resulted, the technique of researches of contact processes is described.
