The article presents a clinical case of herpes virus infection that developed in a 14-year-old boy against the background of chronic kidney disease stage 5 with chronic renal failure grade IV. The adolescent got a transplant from a family donor and received immunosuppressive medications. The peculiarity of the presented clinical case is the need for risk assessment and decision making on the patient’s treatment, since renal failure is a contraindication for the prescription of antiviral drugs (in particular, acyclovir).
