"Urbanismo moderno en México: el Plan Regulador de San Luis Potosí en los años sesenta y la creación de lugares en los años setenta "
Abstract
This article aims to reflect on the zoning planning, which was guided by modern urban planning, of the Potosina Region’s capital in the 1960’s: the purpose of which was to modernise a viceregal city. Although the process followed several regulatory suggestions to improve the road network, the catastrophic consequences for the civic centre were rejected by the people given the large building loss that ensued. However, in the last breath of modernity some open foundational spaces were renovated, which led to unique places being created and recreated; places that were perfect for meeting up with people and for living in given that they were full of a prominent sense of history and society.
