A Comprehensive Review on Selective Harmonic Elimination Techniques and Its Permissible Standards in Electrical Systems
Abstract
Selective harmonic elimination techniques have developed a crucial feature in the domain of power electronics and in innumerable drives control schemes. The main intention of this review paper is to make the readers delve into the numerous control methods employed in SHE techniques, formulations and its applications, challenges faced in grid and the allowable standards of harmonics provided by various standards like IEEE and IEC. By exploring the mathematical formulations, historical development of SHE and comparison of numerous optimization algorithms as well as SHE applications in numerous sectors, this review attempts to impart a complete understanding of the importance of SHE in electrical engineering. Furthermore, this work will also analyze the existing challenges met by SHE methods and it emphasizes the potential future target for exploration and advancement in this field.
