Le manquement professionnel au Moyen Empire et dans les inscriptions de Pétosiris (IVe s. av. J.-C.)
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to underline the importance of abandonment of post as wilful misconduct in professional duty – by senior officials as well as civil servants or farm foremen – in some Middle Kingdom major documents and in the inscriptions in the tomb of Petosiris (4th century BCE). Failure to comply with professional obligations is tantamount to treason, desertion – an act contrary to the maintenance of ma‘at, the necessary order.
