Anne P. Carter: A Biographical Note

Abstract

This biography is a contribution to the study of women’s role in economics discipline. Based on interviews and on her published works, we offer a short biography of Anne P. Carter. We draw the picture of one of the first women economists in the USA to be appointed university professor and take top-responsibilities at university. A research assistant to Leontief, she also contributed to input-output analysis through extensive work on technological change.
