Consideraciones sobre el uso de los Sistemas de Información Geográfica en Antropología
Abstract
Given that (a) the development of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) has been characterized by its enormous spread of disciplines and applications, (b) any social fact is developed in conjunction with a specific territorial or spatial environment and (c) referring to traditional interdisciplinary featuring applied anthropology, this paper presents a case for its potential as a tool applied anthropology. To achieve this, are offered examples of their use in different phases (design and first approaches to the field of study, analysis and presentation of research results) of research projectsdeveloped in the Canaries.
