The names chosen by the pre-Islamic Arabs for their children bore deep connotations and meanings. Some of them were signs of optimism and victory over their enemies, or moral and psychological terror for them. Others were derived from the reality of the geographical environment in which they lived. Their choice of names was not spontaneous or arbitrary.
