Identification of isomeric labdane diterpenoids from rhizomes of Alpinia purpurata by Q-TOF LCMS
Abstract
The hexane and dichloromethane sub-fractions prepared from extracts of Alpinia purpurata (Vieill.) K. SCHUM rhizomes using Vacuum Liquid Chromatography (VLC) and Radial Chromatography (RC) were subjected to qualitative LCMS analysis. A total of thirteen labdane diterpenoid compounds with various pharmacological activities were identified through correlation of their molecular ion peaks at m/z [M + H] +, retention time and molecular formula with those labdane diterpenoids isolated from another Zingiberaceae plant. The result of the LCMS analysis indicated that A. purpurata rhizome has more labdane diterpenoid compounds other than those few reported.
