Objective Influenced by the track beam, the suspended monorail vehicle is prone to yaw motion during running, which significantly affects the vehicle′s stability. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the causes of the yaw motion to find out the solution and improve the ride comfort. Method The structure of suspended monorail vehicle is analyzed. The main factors that affect the stability of the vehicle running and the greatest influencing factor on the vehicle yaw motion are identified. Verification tests are conducted on Shanghai Baoshan suspended monorail test line. Precision instruments are used to measure the stability index of the vehicle, the lateral shaking index and the lateral vibration acceleration of the carriage. The test data are screened, compared and analyzed in combination with the test data of the track beam. Finally, the greatest influencing factor on the vehicle yaw motion is determined. Result & Conclusion The dimension of the inner wall of the track beam is the main cause for the yaw motion of the vehicle bogie. The yaw motion has the greatest impact on the vehicle stability, but can not be completely solved. It is necessary to improve the manufacturing precision of the track beam through design to match the dimension of the guiding wheel, and strictly control the dimensions of the track beam and the bogie in the process of manufacturing.
