Case report – Post-cardiac injury syndrome (PCIS) following coronary intravascular lithotripsy (IVL) assisted left-main angioplasty
Abstract
Intravascular lithotripsy converts electrical energy into sonic waves which selectively break calcium facilitating better stent expansion in calcified coronary arteries. There is a small chance of myocardial injury caused by IVL presenting as post-cardiac injury syndrome (PCIS). This is the first case of documented PCIS following the use of IVL.
