Atherogenic risk factors of hypertension in an elderly
Abstract
An analytic and observational non-paired case-control study, of 31 essential hipertensive elderly exposed to certain atherogenic modifiable risk factors (cases) and of 62 with similar biological characteristics, non hipertensive, but with the same degree of exhibition (control), assisted in the Work Basic Group No. 2 of “Camilo Torres Restrepo” University Polyclinic in Santiago de Cuba, was carried out from February, 2013 to October, 2014, aimed at determining the causal association among some of these factors with the occurrence of hypertension in this population group. The excessive malnutrition, physical inactivity and dyslipemia were the risk factors that had more incidence in the emergence of the disease.
