Il grano gallico: magazzini di stoccaggio e tempi di trasporto a Roma
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to examine the grain trade from Gaul to the ports of the Mediterranean and the time to carry to Rome this first necessity good. It also aims to demonstrate the importance of Gaul, as acorn land, especially during the reign of Claudius, when the main sources for feeding Rome, namely Africa and Egypt, are subject to terrible plagues and famines.
