Aviação Agrícola no Brasil: contexto e caracterização

Abstract

This work aims to elaborate a contextualization and characterization of the agricultural aviation sector in Brazil, underlining to profile of agricultural modernization trajectory and the emergence of agricultural aviation; it also presents a characterization of this sector based on available information about the area served, the evolution of the fleet and accidents. The research was conducted through literature review and collection, systemization, analysis and representation of data and information. The results show that the agricultural aviation sector expands in Brazil, taking in account the increases the aircraft fleet, the service providers throughout the country and also the areas in which the agrochemicals is applied. It is pointed out that agricultural aviation has considerably higher accident rates than other segments of civil aviation. It is noted a limitation on the ways that official information are recorded and also in the records presented by the sector organizations.
