Research data form the basis of projects and at the same time represent potential resources for future research. The increasing requirements of funding institutions regarding data accessibility, transparency, and reusability demand detailed documentation in proposals and data management plans from researchers. Specialized service centers have been established at universities and non-university institutions, some of which offer research data management (RDM) training in very diverse forms. However, this generic offering is often not sufficiently discipline-speific and requires adaptation to the subject and institutional context. Therefore, the DFG (German Research Foundation) supports subject-specific consortia such as NFDI4Health, which promote discipline-specific competence building in RDM. This article describes the adaptation of the RDM offering at the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule (RWTH) to medical requirements and the collaboration of the RWTH Aachen University Library with central entities at RWTH as well as external institutions such as the German National Library of Medicine (ZB MED).
