This article presents aspects of the formation of art's teachers to work mainly in the Juvenile Center of Visual Arts (CJAP), established in 1953 by artist Guido Viaro, in Curitiba. The fifties stand out as a time when the Arts "Escolinhas" ("little schools") was formed in Brazil, spreading the free-expression and innovative proposal for the education of children. Highlights of this article, the course of the formation of art's teachers linked to the Juvenile Center, the aspects of professional performance of teachers under the guidance of Guido Viaro, the desired profile for the teacher of art at the time studied, and design education as refers to the arteducation. The methodology used for research has importance as primary sources of the analysis of documents of that period CJAP such as: registration of books, book section, ordinances, book tests, records, daily record book, the annual reports of activities, the work of students and photographs. Finally, it is important to note that prior to deployment of the first degree courses in art, this Center has contributed to the formation of art's teachers in Curitiba, revealing its innovative and cutting edge.
