Abstract

The recordings of the female voice in Sangam poetry are profound. In it we find a great personality called Olavai. Still-Adhimanthi, Velliveedi, like-so-many come to mind.Like all other literatures in the world; Tamil literature is aimed at enslaving women. Poems such as “Reaction is life for the man, life for the woman in the closet” make it clear that feminism was rooted in the Sangam era as well. But in comparison with other language literatures and later Tamil literatures, women were more educated during the Sangam period and became poets, patinis and viriliyars.When there was an awareness of the rights of the people and the disenfranchisement of women as equals in the population, feminism also appeared in its simplest form. As the national struggle intensified, so did the awareness of women. Men were the first to be involved in such struggles for women.Woman is an inseparable part of social life. She would have been unable to run home and country otherwise. She is seen as the driving force and the driving force.The women of the Sangam excelled in all aspects of chastity, education, valor, love and hospitality. They were well-educated and feminine.
