The research aims to address, during the study days concerning the promotion and the future of religious buildings in the various local contexts, the cult of devotion in Abruzzo smaller towns, particularly in Civitaretenga. Navelli’s village, stands on a hill about 850 meters above sea level in a strategic position. There are many remarkable religious buildings located in this portion of land. This study aims to focus on S. Maria delle Grazie: the Christian church stands in the valley, in an unusual visual-urban relationship with the country. In summary, in this work, will develop the historical and anthropological characteristics of the village, the materials, the technique and the different construction vicissitudes of the church.
