ISSUES IN AND PROSPECTS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF FINANCIAL LITERACY IN BACHELOR-OF-ARCHITECTURE TRAINING
Abstract
The article discusses issues in educating non-economics students in the theory and practice of rational financial and economic behavior with reference to Russian higher schools of architecture. The Federal State Standard of Higher Education (FGOS) and the bachelor-of-architecture degree benchmark program of study have been reviewed to ascertain competencies in matters of financial literacy and economic culture. The bachelor-of-architecture degree curricula have also been analyzed and economic disciplines systematized. Shortcomings in the current basic course of economics are revealed, problems identified, and options for integrating a relevant course or module into the architecture school curricula are proposed in line with the strategic plans of the Government of the Russian Federation and the Central Bank of the Russian Federation related to improving the financial literacy of students who major in subject areas other than economics.
