EXISTENTIAL DILEMMA OF NATIONAL IDENTITY: PHILOSOPHICAL AND ANTHROPOLOGICAL ANALYSIS
Abstract
Relevance. In the context of globalization, the problems of preserving the uniqueness and originality of participants in international processes in XXI century have become more acute. At the same time, this problem has a multifaceted structure, among the elements of which are the development of interethnic dialogue, the preservation of traditional values, the search for the meaning of existence in a world of uncertainty and unlimited possibilities, the achievement of internal balance on the basis of a common civil national identity. Purpose: to study the place and role of a person in formation of national identity. Methods: reflection, existential analytics, phenomenological method. The method of reflection contributed to the understanding of Russia's place in the system of intercivilizational interaction and the organization of domestic political life. Existential analytics, as applied to the study of national identity and its role in the life of a modern state and society, reveals the ways of existence of the nation and each individual as its representative in conditions of uncertainty. The phenomenological method allows us to study the significance of a high level of tolerance for uncertainty in the context of the significance of national identity for the harmonious existence of an individual, nation and state. Results. An existential approach to national identity allows us to understand it as a process of searching for meaning and values in life. This approach assumes that national identity is understood as a process that occurs at the level of the individual and at the level of the collective, and that it can help a person to better understand himself and his role in society, as well as contribute to the formation of social unity and solidarity. Conclusions. At present, the problem of finding the meaning of life is one of the key ways to increase the level of tolerance for uncertainty. And the formation and strengthening of national identity is one of the options for acquiring meaning-forming foundations.
