Objective Optimal design of hybrid power train configuration involves system cost, energy consumption and operation requirements. Therefore, it is necessary to study the hybrid power simulation software with global optimization function. Method The function and architecture of a hybrid power traction simulation software with global optimization function is introduced, the calculation model and calculation principle of the software key modules are expounded. With a hybrid power tram project as an example, the system optimization simulation of the hybrid power on-board energy storage and ground charging scheme is carried out to verify the application effect of the software. Result & Conclusion The global optimization hybrid power traction calculation and simulation software is used to comprehensively optimize the layout scheme of the train energy storage devices and line charging piles. After the optimization, not only is the cost of the optimized scheme reduced compared to the original scheme, but the optimized scheme can fully meet the normal operation requirements of the train.
