The Aesthetic Effect of Using Arabic Calligraphy in Designing Ceramic Surfaces

Abstract

This paper aims to study the aesthetic impact of using some of Arabic Calligraphic phonts in ceramic art ware designs . It represents an experiment on undergraduate and Master students inTaibah University in Almadinah Almonawwarah KSA The importance of this subject is cleared and verified in how it provides an easy and effective source of design solutions in front of the starting designers and design students , specially with the lack of experience in the field of ceramic design , forming methods , and decorations on clay and fired bodies. Arabic lettering and Calligraphy offers new aesthetics to the ceramic product that could be used to enhance art wares and the design process
