Chinese Salvation: Taoist Philosophy in Varlamov’s Shanghai

Abstract

The article explores the multiple realizations of Taoist philosophy in A. Varlamov’s short story Shanghai. The author maintains that Chinese philosophy has a considerable influence on contemporary Russian writers and is a major approach aimed to solve Russian social problems.
