Library and Museum Institutions Facing the Innovative Challenges of Modern Society

Abstract

The paper highlights the phenomenon of interactive art and the activities of the first Ukrainian media artists. The state of the development of digital museums as a source for the acquisition of national information funds were revealed. The level and directions of development digital museums and media art in Ukraine, their place in the modern cultural environment and the function of libraries in this regard were studied. Perspectives and priorities for such establishments, cooperation of art and the latest technologies are examined, and in particular, the project of the Procedure for the re- gistration of museum objects in electronic form, proposed by the Ukrainian Center for Cultural Studies, could help in particular. The new wave of media art development in Ukraine and the level of popularization of interactive art are studied on the example of the largest center of contemporary art in Central and Eastern Europe - the PinchukArtCentre. The work of modern media artists, who are able to demonstrate the results of their experiments with new material, the latest technologies were analyzed.
