Pastes of all kinds and characteristics are among the main reasons for the development and change of the general idea of mural painting, especially the mosaic technique. As the mosaic is no longer limited to stacking the cubes only, but the pastes have added a mixture of beauty to this raw material, and the contemporary mosaic painting has also become more distinguished and beautiful by adding colored pastes, and the pastes are easy to combine with the mosaic. With time, the idea of pastes is no longer limited to merging them with mosaics only. There are also types that are used to paste or make levels of mosaics, such as (Cytox H and its derivatives) pastes in proportion to the technical design. Cement is often included in the composition of these pastes; Since cement is the main raw material in these pastes, it was used in the past in mosaic and restoration works until it was developed to include several types used in contemporary mural painting, and this mortar can be colored and mixed with chromatic oxides or acrylic colors and pigments, to obtain Colored pastes to be employed in the artwork. The research presents some types of cement paste such as (acrylic, cytox H - grout) and their characteristics and composition, and the artistic experiences of contemporary muralists who used these pastes in their artworks such as (artist Jacqueline Iskandar, artist Luca Barberini) and others.
