Fractures of the posteromedial process of the Talus (Cedell's fracture): 3 cases and review of the literature
Abstract
Fracture of the posteromedial process of the talus is an uncommon and often misdiagnosed injury. These fractures are usually seen in three different scenarios: after a subtalar dislocation, following an acute trauma (usually ankle dorsiflexion), and as non-union when the fracture was initially missed. We report three cases of fracture of the posteromedial process, each occurring in one of these circumstances. In addition, we provide an overview of the diagnosis and treatment possibilities for this injury based on a literature review.
