Tarıma Uygun Alanların Belirlenmesi: Bilecik İli Örneği
Abstract
The aim of this study is to identify the areas suitable for agriculture in Bilecik province. As data, 1/25000 scale digital topography sheets, digital stand map, digital soil map, precipitation, temperature and stream data were used. After the 12 main and 72 sub-parameters that will affect the agricultural suitability are scored by the experts, the weighted agricultural suitability map, which is divided into 5 classes by Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), was prepared. These suitability classes are grouped as not at all suitable, not suitable, low suitable, suitable and highly suitable. According to the analysis, the largest area in the research area, with a share of 72.81%, belongs to the "not suitable" class, which covers an area of 2814.55 km2. Then, the “low fit” class with a share of 14.52% and covering an area of 561.19 km2; There is a "highly suitable" class with a share of 3.83%. The class with the least share is the “suitable” class with 0.56%. In the research area, where physical environmental conditions limit agriculture, approximately 90% of the arable and highly suitable areas are used as cultivated areas.
