COMPRENSIÓN COMO EXPERIENCIA DE SENTIDO Y COMO ACONTECIMIENTO

Abstract

This paper discusses main issues in Gadamer’s conception of understanding. On the basis of Heidegger’s view on the holistic-anticipative and historical-factical character of understanding, Gadamer emphasizes the productivity of distance and historical mediation as conditions of possibility for every genuine appropriation of sense. Understanding involves essentially a critical aspect, because appropriation of sense and self-questioning go always together.
