Changeover of community medicine into community and family medicine: A perspective analysis

Abstract

This exploratory paper is written in the context of establishment of Community and Family Medicine Departments in new six AIIMS. Through the review of published literature, key papers, guidelines, web2.0 interface and inductive reasoning, this article attempts to explain the forces behind the restructuring and possible implications. Further considering changeover as a welcome sign; a seven P competency model is proposed by authors, which may facilitate the disciples' journey for searching the purpose of discipline
