This article explores the effects of urban living on people’s well-being and health by focusing on the impact of climate change on the urban environment. It highlights that the ills observed on the well-being and health of city dwellers are a reflection of an era and a society. It also reveals that city dwellers make nature, especially flora, a constituent element of their well-being, aware that they are, benefits of the latter on their health and well-being. It then highlights the main negative effects of climate change on the urban environment and on urban dwellers before explaining the reasons. Finally, it examines existing solutions to adapt cities to climate change and shows that many solutions come from the living world. In conclusion, it debates the necessary paradigm shift.
