Human metapneumovirus (hMPV), a recently described paramyxovirus, has commonly been associated with upper and lower respiratory tract infections in young children. Severe infections including cardiovascular disease associated with hMPV have been particularly reported in older and immunocompromised patients; however, there has been no previous report of hMPV causing myocarditis in a child.
