catena-Poly[[manganese(II)-tris(μ-betaine-κ2O:O′)] tetrabromidomanganate(IV)

Abstract

The title compound, [Mn(C5H11NO2)3]·MnBr4, contains polymeric cationic chains of distorted MnO6 octahedra and bridging betaine molecules, running parallel to the a axis. There are two distinct Mn2+ cations in the chain, both with site symmetry overline{1}. Distorted [MnBr4]2− tetrahedra occupy the spaces between the chains.
