Hubungan Jenis Kelamin dengan Proses Penyembuhan Abses Periapikal pada Perawatan Pulpa Nekrosis berdasarkan Pengukuran Densitas Arsip Foto Rontgen

Abstract

The aim of this study was to observe the relationship between sex and the healing process of periapical abscess on necrotic pulp treatment, according to density measurement from X-ray photo files. The study particularly targeted the changes of the radiolucent density on maxillary anterior teeth that suffered periapical abscess. Retrospective survey study was done on 90 X-ray photo files of periapical abscess patients using stratified random sampling method which is taken from 15 male and 15 female patients. In each sample, the density value was measured from the diagnostic radiograph, filling radiograph and controlling radiograph, using densitometer. The result showed the average decrease of density was 0,513 in the female group and 0,297 in the patients group. The differeral between female and male groups has significant (p<0.05). Therefore, it could be concluded that there is a significant relationship between sex and periapical abscess healing process on necrotic pulp treatment, according to density measurement of the X-ray photo files.
